Last night we cycled back to the university visa office
to do up our resident permits. Here's a shot just outside
the visa office, it kinda reminds me of those dimly lit
streets where something/someone will jump out and
grab you...
btw did you all know that you can click on my pictures
to view the full-sized view instead of the thumbnail?
Got back to hostel for dinner and tonight's menu:
stir fried pasta with onions, sausages & lots of juicy mushrooms!
Haha the best thing abt hostel life so far is the cooking, we get
to experiment with all sorts of stuff, from pasta to porridge to noodles
and burgers... theres plenty to learn in 6 months, i can't wait to
come back and prepare a nice dinner for you guys back in singapore =)
Nothing beats a little presentation to make the dishes
more appetizing (well it sure doesnt look yummy here but
at least the smile will cheer u up a 'lil lol)
William and guowei posing for a "master-chef" shot
i realised i didnt show you guys around this part of the room,
so here it is.. the built-in kitchen with a sink, electric stove
and hood. below the stove is the fridge, fully stocked with chocolate
bars, eggs, milk and most recently - meatballs and beef patties! shoik~
My dutch rendition of the "Ramly Burger™". it was fun
frying the patties and later wrapping them up in the egg.
all it took was a little observation of those guys at the woodlands
pasar malam and a little trial & error to kope their recipe.
We didnt have the sauce so we substituted it for thousand island and
pasta sauce instead. It tastes superb cos we cooked it ourselves lol
I'm the type of person that can survive eating the same old meals
over and over again, for example i ate laksa for every single recess
when i was back in primary school (because our school laksa is really
nice, dunno if they spike it with opium or wad, just ask gloria she loves
it too.) Anyway next up on the menu is mashed potatoes & meatballs,
ala IKEA. If anyone could suggest how to make the meatball gravy(by
dinnertime) it'll be great, otherwise we'll just improvise haha
