Unimaas - level 1

I've been busy with a project this 2 days so i didnt have time
to go out and snap pretty pictures... haha anyway i'm so glad its
over and we did quite a good job (based on the comments given
by the tutor).

Well, now for a first view of the university - its called Unimaas in short.
Here's a shot just inside our school building, one thing you
notice in holland(or european countries) is that the entrances
to their buildings usually have either revolving doors or sliding doors
to keep out the cold. If you zoom in by clicking the picture, you can see
the bike park just outside, thats where we park our bikes. they say its
safe but we bought extra bike chains just to play safe.

Here's the 1st floor where there are computers for students
to use and printers for us to churn out our course documents.
The payment system in University Maastricht is completely
cash-free, which means we use our student smart cards as
payment for everything you buy in the school. This includes our
meals, buying textbooks, printing, even buying drinks from the
drinks machine. Don't ask me why they implemented this system,
but i guess its kinda efficient(no fiddling around for loose change).

The lounge area just beside the computers, thats where
pple usually chill out and surf the net on their laptops.

Today's International Financial Management lesson was
on exchange rates, Purchasing power parity principle
and interest parity... its so condensed that we have to digest
3-4 chapters each session, 2 sessions per week. Now i know why
the modules here are only 8 weeks compared to NTU, thats because
when you add together the 2 sessions per week, we end up with more
tutorials/lectures than the 14 week semester back home in S'pore.

Plenty of readings to do too... so much for thinking i could relax a lil bit
when i'm on exchange haha
