Day One: We took a bus to meet up with an elderly couple
who invited us to lunch @ chinatown. Here are some shots
of the roads/buildings while we travelled on the double decker
bus. Public buses charge a flat rate of 1 pound no matter which
station you alight at, whereas trains charge based on the number
of zones you cross.
There are plenty of starbucks around in london, the
streets are full of fast food places too like Macs, BK,
KFC, etc...
We were caught in a jam, here you can see the famous
red double deckers that are so prominent on london
streets. Got down e bus and decided to travel on foot to
chinatown instead.
Walked past Oxford street (their orchard road), think
of it as something like bugis junction except the air-con
is natural, free-flow of wind... there are no tall, 5-6 storey
mega malls unlike singapore, but they're around 2-3 stories high
and the whole stretch of road is lined with shops.
Laksa and Nasi Lemak... missing such food since i left
singapore. We had lunch at a singapore-malaysia restaurant
at chinatown, it was a treat by uncle peter and aunty hazel.
Here they are =) wonder if you've seen them appear in
commercials before? well, they are retired but their part-time
job gives them the opportunity to appear in tv ads or even in films.
here's a group photo, pastor lim is the one on the
right-most of the picture. i'm currently staying with
him at New Life BP London and he'll be leaving for s'pore
next wednesday.
Chinatown =) lots of asian shops, thai, jap, korean,
chinese, etc... plenty of supermarkets too selling imported
stuff that can't be found in normal supermarts.
Leicester Square
The National Gallery - just one of the famous galleries
here in london, there are plenty for us to visit
Shot of the streets
Trafalgar Square, remember playing Monopoly?
Daniel and the Lion
climbing up there was quite tricky though...
Right thru those gates you'll find buckingham palace
One of the guards on horses. Those boots they wear
never touch the ground, they're not for walking on,
but for riding onli
Haha, reliving my childhood days, i think i had a photo
with one of these guys when i was 6-yrs old
Cute Squirrel =) Haha it was too busy snacking and
i managed to take this picture without zooming.
Buckingham palace and the guards on duty
The gates with its lion and unicorn crest
Westminister's Abbey
Westminister's Cathedral
The Big Ben
well, i always thought big ben was the tower/clock,
actually its refering to the bell...
Does this look familiar?
Singapore flyer + fullerton anyone?
Now you know where we "koped" the idea from...
Thats the London Eye and the aquarium/entertainment
centre just beside it.
The big ben on the opposite side of the River Thames
Can't remember what's the name of this bridge
A maserati on the streets, a shot of london's nightlife.
It was 10.30 but it was still full of people
Catched a musical with pastor lim at Queen's theatre.
Its "Les Miserables" and it was really amazing! My first
time in a real musical, a fantastic experience for onli 20pounds.
